GEA presents more than 80 events this Eid season

Festivals, theatrical plays, concerts, and circus performances all over the Kingdom

RIYADH — The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) is offering more than 80 different events for the Kingdom’s residents and visitors to enjoy during the ‘Eid season’ festival, which will be held for five days starting from the first day of Eid in several regions across the Kingdom.

Through those events, GEA is keen on offering diverse activities suitable for all segments of society as it does during every season. The authority strives to provide remarkable and world-class events held for the first time and which emphasizes the importance of continuously developing the entertainment industry.

Among GEA’s Eid activations are festivals organized at several parks and public spaces, where families and individuals alike can enter free-of-charge.

In Riyadh, King Abdullah Park in Malaz will host the ‘Cruise of Entertainment’ activities for five days beginning from the first day of Eid, whereas ‘Eid Vibes’ will be held in Hezam Park in Al-Rafiah area, ‘Bahjat Al Riyadh’ in the festivals stadium on King Abdullah Road and the Eastern Ring, and ‘Mudawi’ festival at King Fahad National Library’s garden.

In Dammam, the ‘Eid Village’ will be held at King Fahd Park. Furthermore, the waterfront in Khobar will also host ‘Eid Festivities’, while Al Ahsa will feature ‘Eid Carnival’ at King Abdullah Park, while Juatha park will host ‘Kites’ event.

In Taif, ‘Fun Eid’ event will be held at Al Rudaf Park. Moreover, shows and a children's theater in addition to cultural activities await Madinah’s residents and visitors within the ‘Roshan’ event at King Fahd Park.

Additionally, five days of Eid Al-Fitr will present a delightful opportunity for children to meet their favorite cartoon characters in malls, some of which are featured for the first time.

In Riyadh, Granada Mall will host ‘Baby Shark’ shows, based on one of the most-viewed songs in the world. Also, Panorama Mall will feature “Ice Age” shows, Hayat Mall will feature the play ‘The Pearl and the Diamond’, Riyadh Gallery will host a Barney event, Power Rangers will perform in Riyadh Park, and Paw Patrol will be featured at Al Hamra Mall.

In Dammam, Dareen Mall will present the Care Bears show, and Shatea Mall will host the famous children's show Teletubbies. At Dhahran Mall, a Barbie event will be held, while Khobar Mall will feature a Transformers show.

Furthermore, in Palm Oasis, SpongeBob event will be held at Al Ahsa Mall, and Bob the Builder will be featured at Al Rashed Square, while Taif will host Hayati Girl and Fireman Sam events at Jouri Mall, as well as Sonic Boom at the Heart of Taif Mall.

Theater lovers will also enjoy 11 plays during Eid, including 4 to be held in the capital Riyadh, which feature a host of prominent artists from the Gulf and Arab World.

The play ‘The World of Touch’ will be performed in the schools of Riyadh starting from the first day of Eid and for four days, while the play ‘Amin and Company’ starring Egyptian star Ahmed Amin will be held at the ‘Islamic Education Schools’ in Riyadh during the first three days of Eid.

Moreover, ‘Antar the Filtered’ starring the Kuwaiti artist Tariq Ali will be presented at Princess Noura University and ‘Over the Stanley Bridge’ starring Egyptian star Mohammed Saad, Limbi, will be hosted at Dar Al Uloom University. Both plays will begin on the second day of Eid and last for three days.

As for Dammam, it will host ‘Wedding Night of the Late’ starring Talaat Zakaria and renowned artist Hassan Yusuf in Dhahran Expo, and the play ‘Dinar and a half journey’ in Amana theater in the Eastern province.

In Al Ahsa, ‘Mickey Effendi’ starring Egyptian star Ahmed Badir will run in Dhahran Street next to Othaim Mall, and ‘Strange Wonders’ will be performed in a tent in Amana Al-Ahsa, while ‘Rayya and Skina’ will be held in Ahsa’s Kifah Academy.

Taif will also host the play ‘Gu Ninja’ in Rudaf park for five days, while Madinah will host ‘Abu Qdha’ starring Fayez Al-Maliki for three days beginning from the second day of Eid at the University of Prince Muqrin Bin Abdul Aziz.

GEA is also offering a variety of concerts for music fans this Eid Season, where Riyadh will host a musical night featuring singers Angham and Rabeh Sakr at King Fahad Cultural Center on the second day of Eid.

Moreover, a special concert featuring prominent singer Muhammad Abdu will be held in the Green Hall on the third day, while Al-Ahsa’s Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Stadium will host a dual concert by Abdullah Al-Ruwaished and Nawal Al-Zoghbi, who are holding their first concert in Saudi Arabia.

At the Dhahran International Fair, Hussein Al Jasmi will be performing his best songs accompanied by Asala Nasri on the second day of Eid, while Waleed Al Shami and Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki will perform on the third day.

Taif will also witness a concert by Khalid Abdulrahman and Rami Abdullah on the second day of Eid in King Fahd Sports City’s Green Hall, and another by Hatem Al Iraqi and Jaber Alkaser the third day.

Alternatively, several amazing circus shows will be held throughout five days, most prominently the ‘Eloise Circus’ at Riyadh’s Alnakheel Mall, Rob Lake’s international magic show in the Kingdom's schools, ‘Hollywood Circus’ at King Abdullah Park — Dammam’s waterfront, ‘Shadow Land’ at Dhahran International Fair, ‘Al Dahsha Circus’ at Al-Ahsa’s Al-Rashid Square, and the African Circus at Al-Taif’s Rudaf Park. Additionally, the Americano Circus will be hosted in Granada Mall in Riyadh for five days starting from the second day of Eid.

Last but certainly not least, the ‘From the 60s Till Now Orchestra’ will be hosted in the Red Hall at Princess Noura University Theater for five days starting the first day of Eid. The orchestra offers a unique event, which showcases the history of Saudi music since the sixties and up until the present day. — SG
