JEDDAH — A public hospital run by the Ministry of Health in east Jeddah recently made another milestone achievement. The hospital received accreditation as a training facility in the field of pediatric surgery, which apparently is a testimony to the hospital›s quality of performance and patient care. The Central Committee for Accreditation at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) granted the accreditation after an official visit to the facility, which is already an SCFHS-accredited training hospital.

Dr. Majed Almourgi, chief executive officer of the hospital, stressed that this accreditation was a new academic achievement of the institution and the Ministry of Health in general. He also valued the tremendous efforts of his colleagues from Pediatric Surgery Department and Academic and Training Administration, who worked hard to make this come true.

Dr. Almourgi said the hospital administration would work hard to obtain accreditation for training in all medical and surgical specialties, which will definitely strengthen the hospital’s patient care capability and ultimately help meet the health objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. — SG
