SGH, Malik XI, Pepsi triumph in BSL

JEDDAH — Saudi German Hospital (SGH), Malik XI, Pepsi Deccan Knight and Hyderabad Sharks marched ahead with convincing wins over their respective opponents, Thales, CH XI, Ace Travel and Bonny, respectively, while outstanding performances from Umer, Athar, Bilal and Hamza were the highlights of the 6th week matches of Bonny Super League T20, sponsored by Bonny and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).

Umer scored an outstanding 81 (44 balls, 4x5, 6x6) and was well supported by Abbas (53) to enable Saudi German Hospital win by 8 wickets against Thales.

Accurate bowling by Ishaq (3 for 29) and fine all-round display by Athar (66 not out & 3 for 29) gave Pepsi Deccan Knight a 7-wicket win over Ace Travel.

Penetrative bowling by Hamza (5 for 24) and an unbeaten 69 from prolific batsman Saddam helped Hyderabad Sharks score a 5-wicket win over Bonny and remain unbeaten at the top.

Bilal’s outstanding knock of 79 (41 balls, 4x1, 6x2) and Mohsin 63 (37 balls, 4x5, 6x4) enabled Malik XI win by 61 runs against CH XI.

Pepsi Deccan Knight beat Ace Travel by 7 wickets. Ace Travels 156 all out (Zia 35, Ateeq 32, Ishaq 3 for 29, Usman 2 for 22, Athar 3 for 29). Pepsi Deccan Knights 157 for 3 in 16.2 overs (Mazher 51, Athar 66 not out). Man of Match: Athar of Pepsi Deccan Knights.

Hyderabad Sharks beat Bonny by 5 wickets. Bonny 161 all out (Riyaz Afridi 34 not out, Arshad 42, Shahid 2 for 32, Hamza 5 for 24). Hyderabad Sharks 166 for 5 in 15.2 overs (Saddam 69 not out, Sarfaraz 41, Adnan 3 for 37). Man of Match: Hamza of Hyderabad Sharks.

Malik XI beat CH XI by 61 runs. Malik XI 212 for 5 (Bilal 79, Mohsin 63, Tariq 2 for 23). CH XI 151 all out (Zaid 46, Hafiz 24, Khalid 3 for 24, Tanveer 2 for 14). Man of Match: Bilal of Malik.
