JEDDAH — After losing the opener to Bahrain by 41 runs, and then to Qatar by 4 wickets in second game, Saudi Arabia bounced back with a 6-wicket win over Maldives in the ongoing ACC T20 Western Region 2018-19 Tournament at OC Turf 2 in Muscat.

Opting to bat, Maldives made a decent total of 139-7 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Saudi Arabia began disastrously losing openers Shamsudheen Englam Purat (0) and Sajid Imran Cheema (5) cheaply. Ibrar ul Haq then came to the rescue and played confidently and freely to make 49 off 26 balls with 3 sixes and 5 hits to the fence.

Saudi Arabia rode on an unbeaten 31 from Malik Muhammad Naeem and his 67-run stand with Muhammad Nadeem (43 off 30 with one six and 7 fours) led the team to 6-wicket win in 17 overs.

Ibrahim Hassan was the successful bowler with 2 for 26. Ibrar ul Haq was adjudged Player of the Match.
