Mahzin Batterjee opens Pakistani Kinnow Week

Mahzin Batterjee, Vice Chairman, Jeddah Chamber and Shehryar Akbar Khan, Consul General of Pakistan, inaugurated a week-long Pakistani Kinnow (Citrus) promotional campaign with a cake cutting ceremony at Star Avenue Mall Jeddah on Wednesday.

The event was organized by Consulate General of Pakistan Jeddah in collaboration with Manuel Supermarket Jeddah and M/s Roomi Foods Pakistan.

Abdullah Al Darwesh, Chairman, Manuel, Khalid Al Darwesh CEO of Manuel Supermarket, Head of the Food and Fruit Committees of Jeddah Chamber, along with the members of the Committees, leading businessmen of Saudi Arabia dealing in food sector, diplomats, media personalities and the customers of Manuel supermarket were present at the inauguration.

Mahzin Batterjee appreciated the continued efforts of the Consulate particularly Commercial Consular Shahzad Ahmad in promoting the Pakistani products in the Kingdom and noted the strong presence of Pakistani fruit and vegetables due to the variety of produce and competitive prices. He assured Jeddah Chamber’s support for all such initiatives by the Consulate of Pakistan to promote bilateral trade and investment.

Shehryar Akbar Khan said the purpose of the event is to introduce the Pakistani Kinnow to the Saudi consumers. Being sixth largest producer of Kinnow and oranges in the world, Pakistan has around 2 million tons of annual produce. He thanked the support of all stakeholders for supporting the Consulate in Citrus Promotion in KSA.

The Consulate is partnering for the promotional week with MANUEL Supermarket in Jeddah and M/s Roomi Foods Pakistan. Apart from the impressive display of the Kinnow, in partnership with Manuel, a variety of delicacies were made available for tasting of the visitors in the inaugural event.

Arshad Munir Consular (Press) at Pakistan Consulate said that the rest of week the Pakistani Kinnow would be displayed and sold out from all stores of Manuel at promotional rates.
