What do you, animals, plants, and the birds have in common? What do they all do when tired or exhausted? What do they do to revitalize energy? Did you give up? It is WATER! All living beings require water to survive. It is vital for living no matter where they get it from. There are many water sources such as water fountain, lakes, rivers, a rain cloud or a water bottle. You just need to drink water.

More than half of your body weight is water. Your body does not have the capacity to survive for more than a few hours without water, especially if the weather is hot. Did you know that water is more important than food to your body? The reason is that your body has lots of important jobs, and it needs water to carry out all those tasks. Let’s take an example of your blood which contains a lot of water. It carries oxygen to all the cells of your body and without oxygen those tiny cells would die. You need water to digest your food and get rid of your bodily waste.

Yes, you can get water from other fluids such as juices and milk. However, scientists recommend drinking water more as it is the only fluid which hydrates your body without increasing your weight and causing any harm to your teeth. A kid between the age of 4 and 13 should at least drink 6-8 glasses of fluid in a day. It could be water, milk, fruit juice or vegetable juices.

If you participate in sports; it is a must that you drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. When your body doesn’t have enough water it is dehydrated. Dehydration also can keep your body from being fast and sharp. It can make you feel sick. So just keep a water bottle with you wherever you go. As the water will not only keep you hydrated, but you will feel refreshing and energetic the whole day. It also gives a glow to your skin making you more beautiful.
