20-Vision-20, Prince Mohammad shine in Almarai-FBGR Tuesday Night League

RIYADH — 20-Vision-20 has repeated as Best Team of the Week after winning a strong match against IBG Eagles while sponsor team Almarai handed Unica its first league defeat.

That just about summed up an interesting seventh week in the Almarai-FBGR Tuesday Night Family Bowling League 17th Conference at the Universal Bowling Center here.

Banking on another good effort from its eight-man rotation, 20-Vision-20 hammered out a decisive 20-13 victory over the Eagles on total pinfalls of 3,895 and 3,831.

While Almarai ended Unica’s winning streak after its thrilling 14-13 triumph in their match on total pinfalls of 3,796-3,690 another streak likewise ended when Team To Beat prevailed over Bowlnatics.

Winless at the start of the session, Team To Beat finally tasted victory after losing its first six matches, 11-7 on total pinfalls of 3,525-3,429.

Elsewhere, Talk and Strikes defeated Alsalam Strikers 13-10 (3,684-3,585) and No Mercies brought down Lion’s Den 14-11 (3,721-3,601).

Bandar Al-Yalah led off 20-Vision-20’s multipronged attack, carding a four-game series of 802 on scratch games of 166, 163, 177 and 208.

Ahmed Yasser Abulreesh rolled a series of 797 as the only other Vision player to go the distance. Mohammad Khalid shared three games that totaled 650 to go with the contributions from Ahmad Abulreesh 398, Mohammed Abulreesh 388, Yasser Ahmed Abulreeshh 375, Saleh Al-Ajmi 353 and Motaeb Al-Basi 132.

Almarai’s big win over Unica was made all the sweeter after Prince Mohammad bin Sultan Al-Saud bagged Best Bowler of the Week honors in leading the team when he shot the high series of 898.

A scratch bowler, Prince Mohammad shot games of 236, 204, 273 and 185 in a remarkable performance that rubbed off on teammates Jun Daniel 804, Rodel Maranca 783, Fhel Ramos 704 and Emerson Mitra 607.

Edgar Buenaventura was the main man at Team To Beat, coming up with an impressive series of 800, while Bon Buyson backed him up on 788. The others who contributed to the Team cause were Ryan Aniceto with 565, Jane Buenaventura 533, Caesar Remantina 527 and Benito Santos 309.

For Talk and Strikes it was Irene Pua at the helm with her solid series of 821 (194, 191, 168 and 184). Ekart Gayeta added 756, Ruben Tan 705 and Jun Balubayan and Dong Yamco had matching cards of 701s.

Veteran Abdullah Amoudi went two pins shy of 800 while leading the Nomercies that also drew 754s from Vic Barazona and Jobert Pomado, 752 from Allan Doruelo and 663 from Jonathan Avenido.
