JEDDAH — THE MICS Academy organized a program marking the National Education Day and while commemorating the 130th birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Community leaders of various expatriate Indian organizations participated and all the participants unanimously opined that “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad” was a great visionary who laid the foundation of education policy as the first education minister of independent India.
He was a great freedom fighter, true secularist and real patriot, who stood against partition of the country. He gave impetus to adult education and literacy and laid emphasis on eradicating illiteracy of the adults.
Azeem Zeeshan presented the life sketch of the legendary leader and the great philosopher and educationist Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Zakariya Biladi (director, MICS Academy), Shameem Kausar (advisor, MICS Academy), Dr. Abdul Zubair Ahmed and Mohammed Sayeduddin Hyder, Mehtab Qadr (Urdu Gulbun Jeddah) shed some light on the various contributions of the great leader to the nation.
Maulana Abul Kalam was responsible for setting up Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), University Grants Commission (UGC) and was the primary propagator of Indian Institute of Science and the founder of Jamia Millia University.
Detailing the objectives of MICS Academy, Abdul Ghani presented the various employment opportunities available through Indian Civil Services examination and emphasized the importance of guiding the younger generation with the right vision to become successful in their future.
Ashraf Morayur (regional president of Indian Social Forum) requested the community leaders who participated in the function to convey the details of the upcoming MICS 2018 III phase program to the aspirants from Indian community in Jeddah in order for community members to benefit fully from it.
Video Message from Eng. Abdul Majeed, chief patron of MICS Academy, was conveyed to the gathering during the program. Eng. Abdul Majeed envisages to bring tremendous change in the career approach and ambition of the younger generation through programs organized by MICS Academy.
Earlier the program began with the recitation of verses from noble Qur’an by Mohammed Mukhtar and Al Aman Ahmed welcomed the guests and gathering. EM Abdullah presided over the function Ali Koya proposed the vote of thanks and Mohammed Ali conducted the program’s proceedings. — SG
