King calls Iraq president

RIYADH - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman held on Wednesday a telephone conversation with President Barham Salih of Iraq, congratulating him on winning confidence of the Iraqi people who elected him as the new president of the country.

The King wished success to Salih and progress and prosperity to the people of Iraq, stressing the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries.

The Iraqi president thanked the King for his greetings and noble brotherly feelings.

Salih also stressed his keenness on promoting and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

King Salman also held a similar phone conversation with Adel Abdel Mahdi, congratulating him on being elected as the new prime minister of Iraq.

Mahdi thanked the King, stressing that he will strive to develop horizons of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
