Okaz board approves new austerity measures

JEDDAH –
The Board of Directors of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication discussed the performance of the organization and its expenditures during a meeting held on Sept. 20.

Acting Chairman Nabeel Bin Abdullah Al-Hussayyin chaired the meeting. It discussed the organization’s performance and expenditures for the period ending July 31, 2018.

The board approved further measures to cut expenses at administrative and editorial levels during the coming period until the end of the current fiscal year 2018.

The board also followed up measures taken to expedite the collection of outstanding dues from government bodies and commercial enterprises. At the same time, the board underlined the importance of supporting press organizations to keep pace with the national development plans and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The board discussed the offer by a specialist company to enter into partnership with “Lamasat Okaz” to develop and improve the company’s performance and future plans.

The meeting was attended by Waleed Bin Mahfooz, Dr. Tariq Fadaq, Dr. Ahmed Al-Yusuf, Hussein Shobokshi, Dr. Musallam Bin Musallam, Director General Waleed Kattan and Editor-in-Chief Jameel Altheyabi. Secretary-General of the Board Ahmed Al-Battah prepared the minutes.
