JEDDAH
— The Council of Ministers on Tuesday denounced the blatant interference of Iran in the affairs of Arab countries and its support for terrorist militias, saying that Iran is practicing the ugliest form of terrorism.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman chaired the weekly session of the Cabinet at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.

Minister of Media Awwad Al-Awwad said that the Cabinet underlined the need for unity and cooperation to confront and eliminate the malicious scourge of terror, for which the Kingdom has exerted all efforts by extending all kinds of support.

The Cabinet congratulated King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for the success of their efforts to end 20-year-old conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia resulting in the signing of the Jeddah Peace Agreement by Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali.

The Cabinet also praised the Saudi leadership’s efforts to facilitate historic meeting between presidents of Djibouti and Eritrea, which after 10 years of severed relations opened a new chapter in their bilateral relations.

The Cabinet noted that these initiatives embody the Kingdom’s keenness and care to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The Cabinet decided that the government will bear the fine imposed on the employer for the delay in renewal of residence permit (iqama) of his employee if it was proved that the delay in the renewal was due to the government’s delay in paying the employer’s dues while the employee was working on the same project.

The Cabinet approved monthly payment of social security beneficiaries for rational consumption of water.
