SEC starts issuing electricity bills

Saudi Gazette report

Riyadh — The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) announced on Sunday that it has started issuing electricity bills for the month of July from Thursday.

The issuance of electricity bills will continue for several days, it said.

The rescheduling of the bills will not affect electricity consumption for any subscriber.

The bills even though issued in August will be for electricity consumed in the month of July, the company said.

On Thursday, SEC announced the “Tayseer” (Facilitation) program to help residential sector subscribers whose monthly bills range between SR300 and SR3,000 by having them pay the average monthly consumption of electricity.

There are 3 million subscribers whose bill value ranges between SR300 and SR3,000. They will be registered automatically in the Tayseer program this month.

The Tayseer program will cover the period between July and December.

Subscribers have the option to continue in the Tayseer program and pay the average monthly consumption or leave the program any time.

Consumers whose bill value is either less than SR300 or more than SR3,000 can subscriber directly in the fixed bill service.

Last month the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority said it was updating its database and improving its system for more efficient services.
