MCL and MCA merge as MMCA

JEDDAH — Nadeem Nadwi, CEO, Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC), announced the merger of Madinah Cricket League (MCL) and Madinah Cricket Association (MCA) recently.

The official announcement was made at a meeting specially organized at a local hotel in Madinah, inviting executives of both the organizations and the captains of over 30 cricket clubs representing MCL and MCA.

MMCA (Madinah Al-Munawwara Cricket Association) will now be the only association in Madinah Region, affiliated to SCC.

The meeting was attended by Zahid Ali, founder and CEO of MCA, Iftekhar Ali Ashraf, chairman MCA, and Mohammad Asif, president, MCA, with captains of all 12 registered MCA Clubs, while from MCL, Hammad Saeed, president, Amanat Ali, senior VP, and captains of over 20 clubs were present on this historic day which will mark the new era of cricket in Madinah region.

Mohammad Sadequl Islam, who has been instrumental in this merger was the master of ceremony with Rahat Choudhry and Kashif Mirza.

Syed Zahid Ali will be the patron of MMCA and Hammad Saeed, the President.

An adhoc tournament organizing committee is formed, headed by Mohammad Asif for the first tournament which will be sponsored by SCC.

Zahid Ali thanked the SCC and officials of all member clubs and players for the merger.
