BAHA — A high-ranking police officer was shot and killed in Al-Baha with a bullet to the right side of his head. Preliminary investigations indicate the officer might have accidentally shot himself. Police found the gun next to his body with an empty magazine.

Col. Saad Trad, spokesman for Al-Baha police, said they received an emergency call from the son of the victim saying his father was shot and he wanted help.

Teams from police and Red Crescent found the victim on his bed with a gun on his side. Police said more details will be revealed upon completion of investigations.
