RIYADH — A Pakistani expatriate was slightly injured when a Houthi-fired ballistic missile landed in a remote area of Jazan city in the southern part of the Kingdom on Sunday afternoon, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Col. Turki Al-Malki, the official spokesman of the Coalition Forces (Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen) as stating on Sunday.
The Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces detected a ballistic missile launched by Iran-backed Houthi militias at 13:39 p.m. on Sunday from Saada city in Yemen towards Saudi territories, Col. Al-Malki said.
The missile, fired towards Jazan deliberately targeting civilian populated areas, fell in a remote area of the city slightly injuring a Pakistani man, Al-Malki added.
He stressed that this hostile act by the Iranian-supported terrorist Houthi militias proves the continuing involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the armed Houthi militias with qualitative capabilities in a flagrant and clear violation of the UN Security Council Resolutions 2216 and 2231 with the aim of threatening the security of Saudi Arabia and destabilizing regional and international security.
He emphasized that the firing of ballistic missiles towards cities and villages breaches international humanitarian law. – SPA
