May 29, 2018

RIYADH – flynas, the national low-cost carrier airline of Saudi Arabia, for the Ramadan and Summer 2018 is offering approximately 5 million seats on the domestic and international fights – a 13% increase in seat capacity and number of flights in comparison to the same period of the previous year.

This step is a part of flynas’ efforts to meet the increasing demand of seating capacity and to launch several international destinations, penetrating new markets to meet flynas’ guest needs.

The total number of seats launched for Ramadan and Summer 2018 stand at about 5 million seats on 29,000 domestic and international flights; 3 million seats for domestic flights and 2 million for the international flights.

flynas began its preparations for increasing its seating capacity and the number of flights starting May 18 to September 18, 2018, in order to ensure that Ramadan, Eid Al-Fitr, summer vacations, Haj and Eid Al-Adha seasons are well covered.

flynas has previously completed its preparations for Summer 2018 with the launch of several new destinations, while creating new markets exclusively for flynas to become the first national carrier airline operating direct flights to these destinations. In early May 2018, flynas announced the launch of direct flights to new international destinations which include Athens in Greece, Baku in Azerbaijan, Tbilisi in Georgia, Trabzon in Turkey and Vienna in Austria starting 13th June, from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and the tickets are available on all flynas’ sales channels.

Additionally, flynas also announced new direct flights to Istanbul's Ataturk Airport as well as the current airport of Sabiha, and direct flights to Hyderabad in India; two flights per week starting from June 29, which will all board flynas’ new fleet of 30 Airbus A320 aircraft.

During this year, the first aircraft of flynas’ new fleet of 120 A320-neo aircraft is expected to arrive, under an agreement worth 32 billion riyals signed with Airbus in 2017.

Through expansion, continuous development and steady growth since its establishment in 2007, flynas has become the region’s leading low-cost airline, winning the award for “Middle East’s Leading Low-Cost Airline” for four consecutive years, most recently in April at the World Travel Awards 2018 in Ras Al Khaimah and the Skytrax Award in Paris as the “Best Low Cost Airline in the Middle East 2017”.

Reflecting the importance of flynas among the region’s airlines, winning these awards is a global recognition of flynas’ consistent position achieved by its keenness to provide the best services, products and offers to its guests, and recognize the diverse and increasing needs and requirements of its guests, in order to enhance passengers’ flight experience, on-time performance and superior customer service. Moreover, flynas has achieved 94% customer satisfaction rate in 2017, through a survey conducted to more than 100,000 passengers. — SG
