December 18, 2017

DUBAI — Dubai Parks and Resorts, the Middle East’s largest multi-themed leisure and entertainment destination, is offering visitors three unique theme parks, all connected by Riverland Dubai.

A hugely popular attraction for all the family is the LEGOLAND theme park and the adjacent LEGOLAND Water Park, the only water park in the region designed specifically for kids aged 2-12 and their families. With a variety of water slides and attractions, the water park is designed to provide a full-day interactive experience for the whole family to enjoy together.

The water park features more than 20 water slides and attractions, each offering a different and fun-soaked experience including the Build-A-Raft River where children of all ages can customize their own raft using LEGO soft bricks, before floating down a lazy river with views of the entire park.

Along with the Build-A-Raft River, LEGOLAND Water Park offers interactive options such as Build-A-Boat where children can build using countless LEGO bricks before testing their design against the flow of water in a 10-meter river.

Additional LEGOLAND Water Park features include the LEGO Wave Pool where the gentle waves are just big enough for the whole family to enjoy; the DUPLO Wave Pool, a shallow area with fun interactive elements designed for tots; and the DUPLO Splash Safari, a water play area designed especially for toddlers with four small slides and interactive characters.

Adding to the fun is Red Rush where the whole family can ride together in a raft down a 312-foot-long curving track on an 11-foot in diameter half pipe; Splash ‘N’ Swirl, where you can enjoy a solo adventure or share a tube with a friend; and Twist ‘N’ Spin where you can spin down the slide solo or with a friend on a double tube and enjoy endless twists and turns.

The next theme park is MOTIONGATE Dubai covering a total area of four million square feet and showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate. MOTIONGATE rides and attractions are inspired by 13 major film franchises with a total combined box office of over $1.7 billion for opening weekends in the US.

Set amid hundreds of palm trees, there are a total of 3,170 seats for all of MOTIONGATE Dubai’s seated attractions, featuring total of 193 performing staff — that’s more than twice the number involved in the hit Broadway show, The Phantom of the Opera. The Hotel Transylvania attraction is housed within a towering castle with its exterior façade measuring 42 meters at its highest peak, while Zombieland Blast Off is an exhilarating experience that launches guests up and down a 58 meter tower, and Shrek’s Merry Fairy Tale Journey is housed in a 45,000 square foot box.

The third theme park is Bollywood Parks Dubai, a first-of-its-kind theme park that showcases rides and attraction based on some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters. Located near the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border, Bollywood Parks Dubai covers 1.7 million square feet and features cinematic rides, thrilling attractions and entertaining live shows that bring to life the action, music, dance and drama of Bollywood.

Bollywood Parks Dubai recreates the Bollywood experience through themed attractions and rides spread across five zones: Bollywood Boulevard, Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza and Bollywood Film Studios. Visitors will experience bold action, colorful story-telling and captivating dance sequences inspired by nine popular films: Rock On!!, Don, Lagaan, Sholay, Dabangg, Mughal-e-Azam, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, RA.One and Krrish.

During the day, the park has up to 20 live shows across six stages: Rock On!! Magik Alley, Crossroads, Mumbai Express, Rangmanch, Stars on Steps and Cinema Circle. The park also offers six themed restaurants that capture India’s mouth-watering culinary offerings and eight retail outlets stocking quintessential film merchandise.

Completing the unique entertainment experience, the three theme parks are connected by Riverland Dubai – a retail and dining destination at the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts that is free for all to enjoy, while overnight guests can stay at the Lapita Hotel, a Polynesian themed family hotel part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.

The Lapita Hotel is an exotic haven dedicated to those wishing to stay at the heart of the myriad of activities on offer at Dubai Parks and Resorts. Drawing its inspiration from the exotic Polynesian tropical landscapes, the hotel features colorful flowers, lagoon style pools, luxurious guest rooms and themed children’s activities, all designed to create an experience exactly like nothing else.

With 504 rooms, including 60 suites and 3 private villas, the Lapita Hotel is a unique gateway to the endless fun and enjoyment on offer at Dubai Parks and Resorts. The hotel’s central location makes it easily accessible from Dubai and Abu Dhabi and only 63km from Dubai International Airport, 69km from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 23km from Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International Airport. — SG
