MINA — As 2 million pilgrims ascended to Mina to begin the final rites of Haj, more than 100 volunteers of Indian Fraternity Forum were on their toes to provide all kind of assistance to the Guests of Allah.

The volunteers were seen helping pilgrims finding their tents and providing them with water and other assistance.

Supervised by the volunteer group captains — Yaser Melattur, Shafi Malappuram, Mubashir Shornur and Jasafer Kannur, IFF volunteers extended efficient services that helped the pilgrims to begin their Haj rituals with ease and comfort.

Equipped with the updated map of Mina and Haj Navigator software, the volunteers are deployed at the train stations, major roads and streets of Mina to guide the pilgrims to the right destinations. The volunteers will also provide wheelchairs to physically challenged pilgrims.

Today in the plains of Arafat, more than 200 IFF volunteers were spread out at different locations including Nimrah mosque and Jabal Al-Rahma to assist the pilgrims in fulfilling the most important rites of the Haj. The will stay at Arafat until tomorrow.

The third batch of volunteers will be in Mina Thursday night (9 Dhul-Hijja) to serve the huge gathering of pilgrims who are returning to Mina to complete the Haj rituals, including stoning at the Jamarat after full daytime stay in Arafat and overnight halt in Muzdalifah, as well.
