JEDDAH — Deputy Minister of Haj Hatim Qadi reported that 7,000 Umrah visas were issued electronically. He added that issuing visas electronically for Umrah pilgrims appeared to be a positive move.

He expects an increase in the issuance of Umrah visas during the months of Rajab, Shaban, and Ramadan and this mode of delivering visas electronically would definitely help.

Last week 1,000 Umrah visa holders have arrived in the Kingdom. The Umrah and Haj director at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) said that the arrival lounges of the Haj terminal at the airport are ready to receive Umrah visitors.

KAIA will honor five airlines for their commitment to the arrival and departure of pilgrims during past Haj.
