Abdulaziz crowned champion

MANAMA – Saudi Arabia’s Abdulaziz Al-Faisal was officially crowned the new champion of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East at a glittering end-of-season prize giving ceremony Hhere.
Abdulaziz, who captured the overall Porsche driver’s title for the second time in three years, also linked up with Saeed Al-Mouri to win the team prize for Saudi Falcons Racing.
Qatar’s Saadon Al-Kuwari was also among the main prize winners, collecting the Michelin Silver Trophy for topping the intermediate class in the Porsche one-make series.
German driver Hannes Waimer received the bronze class Mobil 1 Trophy during the prize giving event staged at the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa Saturday.
Qatar-based Austrian driver Manfred Ender won the Rookie of the Year prize. — SG
