CAIRO — Egypt’s education ministry has this week announced new penalties for cheating and other violations during nationwide school exams that could lead to jail terms, state news agency Ahram Online reported.
The new amendments came after reports of repeated incidents of leaking exam answers.

The new amendments aim to stop all violations during exams and firmly control the examination process across Egyptian schools, according to a statement released by the ministry. Those found guilty of sharing exam questions and answers could be punish with two to seven years in jail and fined from $5,000 to $11,000. — Al Arabiya English
