Saudi Gazette report

JEDDAH - Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa said that Bahrain has always chosen to be on the side of Saudi Arabia for protecting its security and stability in the light of the Qatari, and Iranian interference that dates back to several centuries.

He made the remarks in a statement following his meeting with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman at Al-Salam Palace on Wednesday evening.

King Hamad said he is in Saudi Arabia not only to discuss developments in the region, but also “to convey our gratitude and renew our appreciation for the support we receive in Bahrain to protect its security and stability in light of the Qatari and Iranian interference. “

The Bahraini monarch emphasized that his kingdom has chosen, all along its history, solidarity with Saudi Arabia to safeguard the religion, Arab identity, coexistence and tolerance as well as to protect its entity and good neighborliness.

He expressed delight over his meeting with King Salman to discuss the latest regional developments and conveyed thanks and appreciation for the Kingdom's support for the security and stability of Bahrain in confronting the flagrant Qatari and Iranian interference.

“The interference, which targeted other Arab and Islamic countries, left us with no option but to take measures”, the Bahraini King said.

He urged the Qatari leadership “to correct its policies and honor its commitments to avert chaos and end all subversive practices which threaten the security and safety of our countries and jeopardize the unity of our societies.”

King Hamad said that the relations would then be reinstated “for the good of our dear brethren in Qatar and for us all.”
