RIYADH – Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said that Saudi Arabia and Egypt are the two wings of the Arab region.



Speaking to reporters after meeting with his Egyptian Counterpart Sameh Shoukry at the foreign ministry headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday, Al-Jubeir said that the relations between the two countries are impeccable.



“The Saudi-Egyptian relations are deep, strong, historical and strategic, and will be always stronger in the future. I look forward to more constructive meetings with Shukri,” he said.



Al-Jubeir said that his meeting with Shoukry was positive and constructive. He stressed that the two countries have identical views and stances in all aspects of various regional issues, the Saudi Press Agency reported.



“During the meeting, we talked about our strong bilateral relations and mechanisms of supporting them in the coming period in all economic, cultural, medical, educational and developmental fields. Our meeting dealt with the situations in the region, particularly in Syria, Yemen and Libya, and stressed on importance of finding solutions to these issues in light of identical views of the two countries.”



Shoukry lauded the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.



He underscored the importance of establishing permanent coordination between the two sides.



He said that the two sides agreed to hold periodic meetings between the two countries.



Shoukry also stressed the need for the two countries to work side by side in boosting the Arab unity and security.
