The Avengers star told Marie Claire magazine that just because she the top-grossing actress of all time does not mean she's the highest paid. "I've had to fight for everything that I have. It's such a fickle and political industry," she said. Forbes named Scarlett Johansson the Top-Grossing Actor of 2016. According to Forbes, Scarlet brought $1.2 billion at global ticketing booths with the release of Captain America: Civil War and Hail, Caesar!. Her Avengers co-star Chris Evans stood second making ticket sales worth $1.15 billion.




Johnny Depp has been sued by The Management Group for an unpaid loan. Hollywood star Johnny Depp's lavish spending - including $3 million to blast author Hunter S. Thompson's ashes from a cannon - led him to the brink of financial ruin, according to an explosive lawsuit filed Tuesday. Over the best part of two decades, the 53-year-old actor has been spending $2 million a month, according to The Management Group (TMG), which is suing the star in Los Angeles for an unpaid loan. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor is alleged to have forked out $75 million on 14 homes, including a 45-acre (18-hectare) French castle, a chain of Bahaman islands, several Hollywood homes, penthouse lofts in downtown LA and a horse farm in Kentucky.

Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has said she plans to retire later this year.


Franklin told the Detroit TV station WDIV Local 4 that she planned to record an album for release in September before retiring. “I must tell you, I am retiring this year,” said Franklin, who was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
