MIS students ignite talents at Cultural Exuberance

JEDDAH — Mahd al Uloom International School organized an art festival dubbed MIS Cultural Exuberance ’16 with the motto “Ignite the Innate Talents”.

A wide spectrum of talent shows were staged at the festival, which included Saudi folk fusion, daff, kitchen orchestra, cultural medley, qawali, Malabar folk fusion, martial arts display, Mappilapattu, elocution, poem recitation, group song and a special quiz contest for parents.

The function commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur›an by Danish Abdul Aziz. Akbar Ali, the convener of the program welcomed the gathering.
Principal Dr. Firoz Mulla presided over the function. Stressing the space for arts and creativity in the curricula, Mulla urged the students to use this as a right platform for their all round development.

Yahya Khaleel Noorani, operations manger, inaugurated the event. He emphasized the importance of art and culture in the field of education along with academics.

Mansoor Ali, the school superintendent, congratulated all the students and teachers who made the art festival a spectacular event.

The program was in full swing till the end with the vibrant anchoring of Sihab from the Department of English.

The auditorium turned to a kaleidoscope of colors as the cultural shows and other performances got under way. Scintillating performances in daff and Saudi folk fusion and martial arts left the audience spellbound. Thrilled by the performance of children, the audience accepted each scene with thundering applause.

The kitchen orchestra and Malabar folk fusion added fervor to the arts day with amazing enthusiasm and zeal accompanied by lots of applause.

Ramees, the activities in-charge proposed the vote of thanks. The program came to a close with the singing of the Saudi and Indian national anthems by the school choir.
