JEDDAH — Pepsi Deccan Knights, Pak Shaheen, Hala International School and Hyderabad Sharks kept their hopes alive for knockout stage with resounding wins as Ace Travel became the second team to qualify for the knockout in the CIT SPL T20 Tournament, sponsored by Canadian International Trading and co-sponsored by Initial Services, Ace Travel, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Hyderabad Sharks, Pepsi (Sipco), Mizo Juices (Arrow Foods), Khind Electronics and Bison.

Shahbaz continued his blitz in the tournament with an unbeaten 102.
Pepsi Deccan Knights trounced KAIA by 52 runs with skipper Abdul Quddus scoring 49 and taking 3-21. Osman’s unbeaten 90 off 47 balls (10 fours, 5 sixes) gave Pak Shaheen a 7-wicket win over Naseem Al-Zahra. Hala School continued to impress with a 5-wicket win over Saudi German Hospital thanks to Amir’s 77 from 49 balls (6 fours, 4 sixes). Mohammed Shahzad of Hyderabad Sharks continued from where he left last week scoring a brilliant 75 runs (14 fours, 2 sixes) and taking 3 -20 to give his team a 29-run win over MB Stars. Ace Travel grounded Peeran XI with a massive 8-wicket win, courtesy of Rashid’s unbeaten 33 and 2-29. MCH Premier recorded its 11th straight win once again with skipper Shahbaz blasting an unbeaten 102 off 38 balls (14 fours, 3 sixes) for a 10-wicket win.

This week’s special guest was SPL main sponsor’s representative Deepak Kaliya, head of Western Region accounts. The chief guest was Siraj Wahab, deputy managing editor, Arab News. Other invited guests watched the matches were Mir Arif Ali of Dallah Group of Companies, and singer Mohammed Sikander Ali.

Pepsi Deccan Knights beat KAIA by 52 runs. Pepsi Deccan Knights 202-6 in 20 overs (Sohail 45, Ather 49, Ayaz 33; Mansoor 2-40). KAIA 150 all out (Abdul Samad 36, Ameen 30; Ather 3-21, Wajid 2-26, Hamid 2-30). Man of the Match: Ather.

Pak Shaheen defeated Naseem Al-Zahra by 7 wickets. Naseem Al-Zahra 155-7 (Aamir Wahla 44, Nadeem 27, Qamar Javed 26, Usman Butt 23; Tabassum 4-27, Faisal Khan 2-30, Sulaiman 2-40). Pak Shaheen 156-3 (Osman 90 not out, Nasir 25 not out, Faisal 21). Man of the Match: Osman.

Hala International School downed Saudi German Hospital by 5 wickets. Saudi German Hospital 164-5 (Taqi 50, Waqas 36, 29 not out, Rafaqat 2-23, Kaiser 2-33). Hala International School 166-4 in 17.2 overs (Amir 77, Rafaqat 28, Adnan 22; Waqas 2-29). Man of the Match: Amir.

Hyderabad Sharks beat MB Stars by 29 runs. Hyderabad Sharks 195-7 (Mohammad Shahzad 75, Yasser 22; Hasan 2-22, Ateeq 2-33). MB Stars 166-9 (Javed 38, Naeem 23, Ateeq 24; Mohamed Shahzad 3-20, Shahid 2-41, Mubashir 2-42). Man of the Match: Mohammad Shahzad.
