Chefs discover secrets of French patisseries with Elle & Vire professionals

JEDDAH — Famous chefs from France were invited here by Elle & Vire professionals to train local chefs and to discover the new techniques of using Elle & Vire products in a workshop arranged by Elle & Vire recently here in Jeddah.
Many famous local chefs, along with culinary experts and students in the field, attended the event.

M. Nabil Sultani, brand manager of Elle & Vire Jeddah, said “we distributed a lot of food brands in all channels, to supermarkets, hypermarkets, self service, wholesalers and food service like hotels, restaurants and catering companies.
“This workshop is our usual initiative, in which expert chefs come and teach new methods to locals chefs, and at the same time introduce new products within their range.”

He added that the workshop did not only explore new techniques in culinary journey, but also introduced Mascarpone cheese.

“It is a very unique product, because of its special packing it gives a longer shelf life, and usage is more easier than using traditional Mascarpone chees,” he said.

Visiting culinary advisers remained in kingdom for one week. They held two workshops, one in Riyadh and another one in Jeddah.

“We are targeting all the food service outlets like hotels, restaurants anyone that has pastry shops or bakeries,” said Nabil Sultani.

More than 15 local chefs we have invited here to attend and discover the secrets of French recipes, he added.

Visiting Chef Ludovic, who is very famous as a pastry chef for Elle & Vire, said “since last nine years. I am visiting Saudi Arabia once in a year, I have a long journey with these people and witnessed many changes, pastry quality is improving, Saudi people are fully aware of the quality which is present in western countries and allover the world. They want to have same quality and taste here.”

“Today we introduced Mascarpone cheese. It is easy to use for a pastry chef. We introduced around six recipes here, all recipes are very classical and innovate something new and add some new touch and taste in it.”

When asked about Saudi youth’s interest in culinary profession, Chef Ludovic said “we see young generation of Saudi chefs coming to work in pastry, am surprised to see females are interested in pastry chef profession, they want to adopt this profession with all enthusiasm and it’s a very positive step. I appreciate it.”
