RIYADH — Boeing announced that it is supporting a series of learning disability training courses at the King Salman Center for Disability Research as part of its ongoing commitment to education initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ahmed Jazzar, president of Boeing in Saudi Arabia, made the announcement during a visit to the office of Prince Sultan Bin Salman with a number of Boeing executives.
Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the Board of the King Salman Center for Disability Research (KSCDR), expressed his gratitude to Boeing for its ongoing partnership to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.
“At the King Salman Center for Disability Research, we pledge every day to complete our ambitious mission to improve the quality of life and living standards for people with special needs through our research activities,” said Prince Sultan Bin Salman.
Boeing is a key supporter of the learning disabilities program, one of the most important programs at the King Salman Center for Disability Research. The program consists of five tests that assess disabled students’ reading skills, and Boeing’s funding will advance the development of diagnostic tools that are tailored to the needs of individuals in Saudi Arabia.
“Boeing’s support of the King Salman Center for Disability Research is another important example of the company›s corporate social responsibility programs that aim to support all of Saudi society,” Jazzar said. “We are extremely proud of the popularity of the programs we have provided to the community for over 70 years. This partnership highlights our effort to drive systemic change and develop teachers to help improve education outcomes.”
A series of training courses organized by Boeing will provide teachers with monthly lectures and workshops detailing how best to deliver education to people with learning difficulties. The sessions are designed to help teachers improve the learning environment, allowing students to discover their hidden talents and access the highest levels of education. The training also will show teachers how to develop their professional expertise and opportunities.
The support provided by Boeing enables the King Salman Center for Disability Research to move forward with its mission to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and special needs.
The center is guided by the theme “Science for the Benefit of People” and its team is committed to the ideals and ethics that contribute to supporting those in need within the Kingdom and abroad. — SG
