RIYADH — The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the Kingdom's central bank, received 29,779 complaints from clients of banks, insurance providers and financial companies during the past one year, Al-Watan daily reported.

A source said the complaints were either submitted to the agency directly or through government directorates.

“The agency has responded to 29,464 of the complaints. The agency aims at ensuring justice for clients and providing high quality banking and financial services in the country. The agency is constantly developing and improving its
policies to protect clients,” said the source.

The source also said SAMA promotes transparency between the service user and the service provider.

“The agency aims to implement transparency in prices, fees, commissions and procedures of lodging complaints. The agency also aims to raise awareness among clients and to conduct studies and find solutions to the problems they face,” said the source.

The source also said SAMA is also working on developing client protection policies.
