“UZBEKISTAN will hold presidential election on Dec. 4. All preparations have been completed to hold transparent and fair election. The Republican Press Center has been set up to coordinate the coverage of presidential elections. The Central Election Commission has accredited about 400 foreign and national media representatives,” said Uzbek Consul General Ulugbek Maqsudov in Jeddah.

Maqsudov added, “Election booths will be established here in the Consulate General and Embassy for Uzbek nationals on 4th of December to vote”.

Talking about the upcoming election he said, “Uzbekistan election commission is very powerful and independent, the central election commission of Uzbekistan set up electoral districts for the election. Four political parties of Uzbekistan will participate in the upcoming election.” The Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milly Tiklanish” has confirmed the candidacy of the Chairman of the Central Council of the Party Sarvar Otamurodov, Liberal Democratic Party has nominated Shavkat Mirziyoev (the acting president and prime minster of Uzbekistan), People’s Democratic Party’s candidate will be Hotamjon Ketmonov and the Social Democratic Party “Adalat” has nominated the chairman of the political council of party Narimon Umarov.

Maqsudov said, “About 9,378 polling stations including booths in 44 diplomatic missions in foreign countries have been established for the election. Polling stations are provided with all necessary communications, computer and office equipment and legal literature. The designated areas are set for secret voting booths and ballot boxes.” — SG
