JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia’s WRC star Yazeed Al-Rajhi tops the entry list for Rally Jeddah 2016, the Kingdom’s new cross-country event that gets underway next Thursday afternoon in Obhur with a three-kilometer timed prologue stage.

The rally in its 3rd edition is being organized by former Saudi rally driver Abdullah Bakshab, supervised by the International Automobile Federation and Saudi Arabian Motor Bike Federation and will run under the patronage of Makkah Governor, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and Prince Mishaal Bin Majed Bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Rally.

Al-Rajhi, the defending champion, leads 30 drivers from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, France, Russia and Germany into the start of the 2016 Jeddah Rally Friday morning.

Al-Nakheel Makarm resort will play host to a Q & A session with the leading drivers from 6:00 p.m. and the ceremonial start at 7:30 p.m., before some of the region’s leading drivers head into a nearby timed super special stage at 8:00 p.m.

Participants are split between the T1 and T2 categories, as classified by the Federation of International Automobile (FIA).
