MAKKAH — A construction worker died instantly after a cement block fell on top of him during construction activity here.
Makkah Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Naif Al-Sharif said the Civil Defense received reports of a construction worker who was injured in a construction site in Al-Aziziyah District.
The Pakistani worker was standing next to a truck filled with cement blocks. The blocks fell on top of the worker’s head and he died as a result.
The Civil Defense halted the construction work in the site and inspected it to ensure the safety procedures were followed. The Civil Defense reported the contractor had breached some of the safety regulations.
