JEDDAH — The e-hiring portal for temporary work ‘Ajeer’ has helped so far 1,300 job seekers to be recruited during the annual Islamic pilgrimage as the number of the registered establishments that post their job opportunities on the portal reached at 300.

The portal, which was launched by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, aims to regulate and balance demand and supply of jobs during Haj season.

Deputy Minister for Labor Policies of the ministry Dr. Ahmed Kattan said the temporary work portal can be accessed at https://www.temporarywork.com.sa, and both companies and job seekers still have time to utilize the portal until Oct. 31.

Kattan emphasized that the portal is in a bid to provide an electronic market that takes into account the demand and supply aspects during Haj, whereas individuals in Makkah and Madinah provinces can be contracted on a temporary basis by Haj service providers.

Registered job seekers can be Saudi nationals or expats with valid residence permits in the Kingdom who are willing to work during the Haj season, he added.

Kattan pointed out that employers can display their available job opportunities on the portal during the remaining season and job seekers can go through such opportunities and choose the suitable ones.

Additionally, the portal also allows job seekers to submit their application in the waiting list where employers can retrieve their registered information and appoint suitable candidates to fulfill their vacancies, Kattan said.

The deputy minister for labor policies called upon Haj companies and individuals who still want to seize the opportunity to work during the remaining period to register with the ‘Ajeer’ portal.

They can contact the customer service No. 920002866 if they have any inquiry regarding the service, he said.
