RIYADH — The Ministry of Education has decided to open scholarships for Saudi male and female students to study in several Malaysian universities.
Saudi Cultural Attache to Kuala Lumpur, Zayed Bin Ajeer Al-Harithy, said undergraduate studies in medicine and dentistry have been opened in the Malaysian International Medical University in addition to other institutions including Malay University.
He said the ministry's committee on the selection of non-Saudi universities has recommended the Malaysian institutions.
Harithy said officials of the Malaysian universities have expressed readiness to allot a number of seats for Saudi scholarship students to study medical sciences, dentistry, nursing, engineering, nutrition and other fields of study. He said the officials also voiced willingness to conclude agreements and partnerships in many aspects including a joint supervision and the research works.
The attache had earlier sent a letter to the minister informing him about the availability of a number of the distinguished scientific and medical specializations in Malaysian universities which the Saudi students could opt for.
After a careful study conducted by the cultural attache, the ministry was convinced that the Malaysian universities were distinguished in many specializations including medicine, engineering and others.
The ministry listed 12 Malaysian universities in which the Saudi students could apply with the exception of the National University of Malaysia as it lacks enough seats in various disciplines.
