A WANTED suspect was arrested Thursday after a raid on a house in Umm Al-Hamam village in Qatif Governorate.

Mohsen Ibrahim Mosabah is charged with the murder of a security man, Faisal Bin Awad Al-Harbi, who was killed in a gunfire in Saihat city in Qatif Governorate on June 24, a security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said in Jeddah on Friday.

Mosabah allegedly shot the officer as he was performing his traffic duties, before fleeing the crime scene.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry announced that Al-Harbi was gunned down in the governorate of Qatif by an unidentified killer.

Two other persons who were with Mosabah during the raid have also been arrested, the spokesman said. The two are being questioned to determine their relationship with Mosabah, the spokesman was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

In addition to the killing of Al-Harbi, Mosabah was also wanted in several terrorist and criminal offenses. His crimes included firing at security patrols, citizens and residents, burning of two cars belonging to two citizens after firing at them while they were passing through the village, kidnapping and raping of a girl and robbing cash from a money transporting vehicle.

The ministry stressed that the Kingdom would continue to fight such criminals and warned against providing any kind of monetary or logistic support to criminal elements.
