PANDA Retail Company has announced that it will run two awareness campaigns aiming to protect consumer rights and prevent commercial fraud. The activities of both drives will take place at a number of Panda stores dotted all over the country.

The first campaign sheds light on SFDA’s duties and responsibilities and offers health tips to shoppers on bracelet-shaped flyers fixed on shopping cart handles. The flyers highlight the SFDA role in protecting the safety of food, medicine, chemic products, electronic products and medical devices used by the general public. Moreover, consumers will get a chance to learn about the procedures SFDA follows to report violations that might impose danger on public health.

The second campaign focuses on enhancing public awareness about CPA duties and responsibilities. Weekly informative flyers containing general tips will be distributed to customers to explain how CPA provides protection to consumers and educates them about all forms of commercial fraud and types of cheated products. The flyers emphasize CPA efforts in combatting spikes in prices and providing consumption rationalization tips.

Commenting on the strategic partnerships with consumer protection authorities, Muwaffaq Mansour Jamal, CEO of Panda Retail Company, highlighted the company’s commitment to promulgating consumer rights and its keenness to support the initiatives aiming to reinforce and instill the concepts and values of consumer protection in all members of society.

“Such campaigns contribute largely to promulgating consumer rights. They also educate the public about the role of pertinent government agencies in curbing and preventing violations for public health and safety, which is considered one of the foundation pillars that ensures the growth and development of the Saudi economy in general and that of the private sector in particular.”

Panda forms the Retail Division of the Savola group of companies. It is one of the largest retailers in the Middle East, catering to more than 400 million visitors every year across its different outlets Panda, HyperPanda and Pandati, which offers a diverse range of high quality products that meet all the needs of the family, at competitive prices. — SG
