Tents for domestic pilgrims allotted in Mina

JEDDAH – The Ministry of Haj and Umrah announced on Wednesday the allocation of tents and residential areas for domestic pilgrims in all categories in Mina.

The ministry will hand over the tents to domestic Haj companies and establishments in the month of Shawwal (July) so as to enable them to complete the furnishing of the tents well in advance to receive domestic pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

According to the ministry statement, a total of six towers on the mountain slope of Mina have been allocated, and these towers can accommodate a total of 11,872 pilgrims.

The price of the towers category has been fixed at SR11,890. A total of 194 tents have been allotted in the general program category with a capacity to accommodate a total of 132,679 pilgrims.

The price for the first category in the general program ranges from SR7,546 to SR8,146, while it is between SR7,895 and SR7,295 for the second category and SR6,493 and SR5,893 for the third category.

The ministry has allocated 77 tents in the low-cost Haj category with a total capacity of 51,518 pilgrims. The prices in this category is between SR4,132 and SR3,282. “All the allocations of tents for domestic pilgrims have been made after completing the necessary procedures with the licensed domestic Haj service providers. The points received by each firm on the basis of the evaluation of their performance in the previous Haj seasons were the major criterion in the allotment of tents,” the ministry added in the statement.
