DUBAI — In recent years there has been an influx of health focused tech products that promise to count steps taken, hours slept and monitor vital signs 24 hours a day. Unlike these products, the newest offering from British technology brand Dyson works to create an environment that allows for a healthy lifestyle away from potentially harmful pollutants.

Toby Saville, Dyson microbiologist, said “there’s more to dust and dirt than meets the eye – the really harmful stuff is 6,000 times smaller than a full stop. Most cleaning methods struggle to tackle these pollutants on floors and surfaces; sweeping can flick dangerous particles into the air, and mopping can simply push the particles around. The most effective way to rid the home of these nasty particles is a combination of using air purifiers and vacuuming.”

A study in the US shows that indoor air pollutants have been ranked among the top five environmental risks to public health and may be 2 to 5 times – and occasionally more than 100 times – higher than outdoor pollutant levels. Even if all windows and doors were closed, harmful particles such as pollutants, allergens, pollen, and mold still find a way to creep into the homes. If there is a baby at home, who by the way breathes up to four times faster than adults and is potentially more vulnerable to fine particles, indoor air pollution is even a greater cause for worry, the study noted.

The Dyson Pure Cool is an air purifier that takes its design from the brand’s popular fans – hence it can also act as a fan – which have been upgraded to not only circulated air but to also filter out nasty particles, resulting in better air quality. The Pure Cool captures up to 99.95 percent of allergens and pollutants. These come in varying size, as small as .01 microns, which is approximately 100 times smaller than a piece human hair. The device has a glass HEPA filter that has been created with 1.1 meters of borosilicate microfibers, pleated 254 times to ensure that event the smalls particles are captured.

Due to the size of the pollutants, many people are not aware of the pollutants in the air, which are known to aggravate some of the most commonly suffered respiratory diseases. Surprisingly, the air indoors can more densely polluted than outdoors.

In the midst of summer, this issue becomes more prevalent with people opting to stay indoors to beat the heat. As air conditioners pump out cool air, they also continue to recycle the same pollutants that are causing harm. The Dyson air purifier works alone as a device that cools and circulates air or in partnership with the air-conditioning to clean the air.

The Dyson Pure Cool has been designed as all of the brand’s products are – to deliver the most effective solution to a problem, while also having the aesthetics that complement the environment such as a home or office. The bladeless design delivers powerful airflow with minimal noise. It also has a remote allowing for it to be controlled from distance, or put on a timer for dedicated lengths of time.

The Dyson Pure Cool is a device that promotes a healthier lifestyle, by removing harmful particles that many people don’t think of, allowing for cleaner, fresher living environments.
