DHAHRAN – Honeywell celebrated last Thursday the graduation of 19 Saudi engineers from its Global TECPro Program, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to developing world-class engineering talent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

The Honeywell Global TECPro Program, first launched in 2015, is a global early career development initiative designed to shape and develop the long-term future of Honeywell employees. In Saudi Arabia, the program has been specifically tailored to support the regional training requirements and further the individual development of Honeywell’s system, electrical, computer and chemical engineering staff working in the country.

The 18-month program provides trainees with customized and comprehensive education across all of Honeywell’s specialized sectors, including intensive training through the Honeywell Automation College, rotational assignments, and an introduction to all aspects of the company’s business and operations.

Participants are able to benefit from multiple themed courses including fire safety, security, access control, process control, refining & petrochemicals and data analysis. Following a formal graduation, the participants are promoted from entry level to more senior positions within their field.

“As a global technology leader we are committed to finding and developing the world’s leading engineering talent,” said Mohammed Almousa, country manager, Honeywell Saudi Arabia. “With more than 40 years’ experience in helping to grow local industries in Saudi Arabia, we know that the Kingdom presents a tremendous opportunity in terms of local talent potential. Our Global TECPro Program gives our trainees the right tools, knowledge and experience to develop successful long-term careers with a leading Fortune 100 company, and ultimately the opportunity to shape the future of their nation and industries.”

The Global TECPro Program is a key initiative in Honeywell’s commitment to helping transform Saudi Arabia into a knowledge based economy. This is particularly relevant in the country, following the recent unveiling of the “Saudi Vision 2030” – a comprehensive roadmap of long-term economic goals with a clear focus on educating young Saudis.

According to Honeywell, in Saudi Arabia where more than 50 percent of the population is under the age of 25, having access to specialized, high quality education is key to achieving the country’s economic vision and creating attractive long-term career opportunities for Saudi nationals.
“As a highly diversified global business operating across more than 70 countries worldwide, our focus is always on growing our business and supporting the economies where we operate. Developing and investing in a skilled workforce is key to support this growth and the development of regional economies,” said Vimal Kapur, president, Honeywell Process Solutions.

“With more than 600 people currently employed across ten offices in the Kingdom serving all market segments, Saudi talent is a key contributor to Honeywell’s continued success. We are therefore particularly proud to congratulate the 19 Saudi Global TECPro graduates today. Their success is a clear testament of our support and commitment to the Kingdom, and we look forward to their successful futures with Honeywell.”

Honeywell has been supporting industries and consumers in Saudi Arabia for more than four decades. Honeywell Saudi Arabia also recently inaugurated its HQ at Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV), Dhahran. The facility is a state of the art integration and Research and Development (R&D) center, with training facilities that provide support to its customers throughout the region. — SG
