BAHA — A tourist group was trapped in the mountainous area of Humaidah in Baljurshi fovernorate. Baha Civil Defense spokesman Lt. Col. Abdullah Al-Thibyah said 18 tourists went to the historic Humaidah road. The tourists included Saudis, Egyptians and Filipinos, and had a guide from the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, but became lost, with some fainting due to heat and dehydration. The Civil Defense sent water and oxygen tanks to the tourists and a team of paramedics to check on them. After resting, the tourists continued their ascent of the mountain.
Terrorist sentenced

to 7 years in prison

RIYADH — A Saudi man was sentenced to seven years in prison on Sunday for multiple acts of terrorism. Riyadh Criminal Court convicted the man of supporting the terrorist organizations Daesh and Al-Qaeda. He had posted several tweets announcing his support, was in contact with individuals in Syria via Skype, had phone conversations with members of Daesh and had helped new members travel to Syria to join the organization. The man also purchased and obtained weapons illegally. The court sentenced him to seven years in prison and banned him from travel for seven years upon his release.

8-yr-old boy drowns
in rainwater swamp

JAZAN — A boy drowned to death and another was rescued from a swamp in Samtah governorate. Jazan Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Yahya Al-Qahtani said they received a report of an 8-year-old boy who drowned in a rainwater swamp in Al-Jardiyah village. The Civil Defense located his body in the water and hauled him out. The Civil Defense also received reports of an 11-year-old boy who had fallen into the Al-Maghailah valley, but managed to haul him out before he drowned. The boy was transported to hospital by his parents and he is now in intensive care.
