JEDDAH — Within the framework of inspection tours to determine the conditions of employment of Uganda, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Uganda Wilson Muruli Mukasa visited Saudi Arabia recently to check on the status of the working condition of Ugandan housemaids recruited by Saed Group.
During his visit, the Ugandan Minister met with the Managing Director and CEO of Saed Group, Ahmad Mohammad Abdul Karim, accompanied by a high-level labor delegation from Uganda, where they discussed the policy and activities of the group in the field of recruitment of domestic workers in addition to the development of frameworks for cooperation and protection of their rights with the provision of facilities and features.
The Ugandan minister met also with a group of Ugandan housemaids who were recruited by Saed Group to hear their experiences in Saudi Arabia.
Most of the housemaids expressed their comfort working in Saudi Arabia and they indicated that working here led them to make their dreams come true.
They also praised the role of Saed Group in making their life here in Saudi Arabia easier and comfortable. They further said that they were not subjected to any kind of harassment or racism.
During the lengthy meeting between the Ugandan delegation and officials of Saed Group, both parties also discussed the development of the recruitment system in the Kingdom, new agreements intended to protect the rights and welfare of immigrant workers and new procedures of recruiting more Ugandan trained housemaids to supply Saudi families.
The Ugandan minister and his accompanying delegation expressed their admiration for the high professional level showed by the Saudi recruiting company within the framework of the regulations and agreements, as well as the level of automation systems, follow-up and care for workers.
Saed Group aims to take the lead in manpower services through providing ancillary services that support human resources. In addition, Saed Group provides mediation services in Saudi Arabia. — SG
