RIYADH — A total of 208 physically disabled brides and grooms will celebrate their wedding day on March 28.

Adult Physical Disability Charity Organization head Nasser Al-Mutawi said the charity will be holding its sixth communal weddings day on March 28. “The honorary head of the organization, Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, is invited to attend the ceremony. The wedding ceremony for men will be held at King Fahd Cultural Center while the wedding ceremony for women will be held at the Inter.Continental Hotel on another day,” said Al-Mutawi.

He expressed his deep appreciation for Prince Faisal Bin Bandar for agreeing to attend the celebrations.

“His Royal Highness’s attendance shows his support to the cause and his encouragement of people with physical disability. The organization aims to empower and inspire adults with physical disability and to assure them that they have the right to have a family and be happy like everyone else,” said Al-Mutawi.

He also said he would like to extend his utmost appreciation to Minister of Social Affairs Majed Al-Qasabi for the efforts he put in to empowering disabled members of society.

“The disabled members of society are in need of more recognition and attention. Saudi society has not yet accustomed to welcoming the physically disabled members among them. There is a great need for public services and assistance for the physically disabled,” said Al-Mutawi.

He also said the charity works on supporting the physically disabled and empowering them to move forward.

“The members of society must be aware of the physically disabled members in their society and must accommodate them. The ministry funds the organization and supports it, but there is much more to be done,” said Al-Mutawi.
