MADINAH — The International Basketball Federation (IBF) has chosen Saudi international referee Hatim Al-Hazmi for the women basketball qualifying matches for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Hazmi is ranked among the best basketball referees in Asia. He has officiated in the World Youth Basketball Cup in Greece and the World Basketball Cup for the youth under 17 in the United Arab Emirates. He has set a new record when officiated five basketball finals in five GCC countries in one season. He was the first Saudi and Arab referee to supervise basketball league competitions in East Europe and the Balkan twice in a row.
