DUBAI — The United Arab Emirates says one of its soldiers has been killed in an accident as he was preparing to join Saudi-led military operations in Yemen.

The federation’s armed forces announced the death of Obaid Salem Saeed Al-Badwawi on Sunday carried by state news agency WAM.

It says he was killed in a military vehicle accident in Saudi Arabia. The Emirates is part of the Saudi-led coalition fighting on behalf of Yemen’s internationally recognized government against Shiite rebels that control the capital Sanaa and other parts of the country.
