JEDDAH — The Saudi International Motor Show 2015 has concluded on Thursday with success as the show recorded some 150,000 visitors for the first time in its 37 years.

The five-day event, held at Jeddah Convention & Exhibition Centre, gathered big crowds that marveled over the latest vehicle models, technology, and auto trends.

The exhibition hosted various notable and international car and motorcycle brands that showcased their latest sport, mid-size, and SUV segments.

Highly-esteemed brands that participated in the event included automakers from USA, China, Japan and Korea which showcased their models for 2016.

Apart from premier launches, spectators were entertained with the auto-related activities conducted by the exhibitors throughout the event.
Various interactive games and contests were conducted on stage as well.

“Held under the patronage HRH Prince Misaal Bin Majed, governor of Jeddah, the motor show was considered a success.” Zahoor Siddique, Vice President of Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE) said.

He added “inaugurated by Eng. Mohammed Tawfiq Madani, Director General of the Transport Department in Makkah, the exhibition proves to be one of the prominent motoring events in Saudi Arabia and region.”

Every year, the Saudi International Motor Show delights visitors with the massive car displays of its exhibitors, from customized and classic and more, plus test drives.

“The visitors involvement this year with so many outdoor activities and entertainment ensured that there was always something for everyone,” Siddique said.

He noted that “the just concluded and successful show held on Dec. 13-17, 2015 explored another aspect of automobiles: their ability to thrill and excite as we use them to explore the great outdoors.”

This year’s edition included several adrenalin- pumping live action events including the final round of Saudi Star Drift Championship, Off-Road Experience, car customization, interactive areas and electronic virtual driving.

The next Jeddah Motor Show is expected to be held on Dec. 11, 2016.
