GESS Education Awards in search for excellence in Gulf region’s sector

JEDDAH   – Advances in education will be honored at the 2016 GESS Education Awards, the annual recognition program celebrating excellence in the education sector in the Gulf region.

“The robust growth of the education sector in the region has opened up the market for a broad range of education products and solutions designed to help advance the teaching and learning experience in and outside the classrooms. Many of these have been instrumental in aiding teachers achieve excellence in teaching practices, as well as in terms of helping make learning more interesting and fun for students. Honoring these initiatives will help education decision-makers choose the right education tools that will help them raise the quality of education in schools throughout the region,” said Matt Thompson, Project Director, F&E Group, organizers of the GESS Education Awards, scheduled to take place at next year’s edition of GESS Dubai.

Nominations are now being accepted in two broad categories – for Teachers, Schools and Education Professionals; as well as for Suppliers and Distributors from all over the world – where several awards will be given in a number of sub-categories. This early, entries have already been received from the UAE, UK, Denmark, Oman, Qatar, South Africa, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Australia, USA, India and Egypt.

Among the most highly sought-after award is the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented in partnership with Taaleem, a leading education provider in the Gulf, which will be given to an individual whose work has contributed significantly to the advancement of the education sector.

“Inspiring young minds is at the very core of Taaleem’s business, and through this award we hope to recognize outstanding efforts by an educator in helping students become passionate learners and exceptional achievers,” said Clive Pierrepont, Director of Communications, Taaleem.

Now in its 3rd year, the GESS Education Awards are handed out along with the eThraa awards, organized by the Arab eLearning Network, where outstanding education initiatives in online and interactive learning will be recognized. Submissions may be made online at www.gessawards.com with the deadline set for 26 November 2015.

Winners will be announced on March 2, 2016, during the second day of GESS Dubai which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre next year. A dynamic combination of exhibition and conference, the 9th edition of GESS Dubai is the region’s premier showcase for educational supplies and solutions; and also includes an extensive, world-class educational, CPD certified program to help teachers, educators and academics of all levels develop their skills and gain insight from international experts.
