JEDDAH — Within the framework of achieving the college’s mission by supporting outstanding students, Batterjee Medical College has just concluded Al-Fursan Scholarship Program for the Academic year 2015-2016.

 

Dr. Osama Kensara, BMC Dean, pointed out that the main purpose of such programs is to attract distinguished high-school graduates with outstanding performance to study medicine with a full scholarship.

 

In order to win the scholarship, competitors need to prove their high learning capability, nobility, knightly spirit, and their ability to work in a team during the competition.

 

He added that the college has sponsored this program for nine consecutive years. At the first stage, the participants must pass tests in several areas such as: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English language, and other areas. 

 

After that, consultants will evaluate their logic, strategic thinking, and ability to handle pressure and whether they are qualified to be accepted in the program interview participants. After that, 10 lucky students are chosen to take the scholarship.

 

Sobhi Batterjee, chairman of the Board of Trustees, said that the idea of the program was initiated and adopted by Sheikh Abdul-Jalil Batterjee, God rest his soul, since its establishment to attract elite students from Arab and Muslim youths to carry this noble message. He affirmed that the program carries a humanitarian side, which is represented by overcoming financial obstacles.
