‘Attack victim’ lies to claim money

Police arrested a Saudi truck driver who filed a fake report claiming that four people attacked him and stole his cargo of wood and SR13,000 in order to claim the goods and cash for himself.

BAHA — Police arrested a Saudi truck driver who filed a fake report claiming that four people attacked him and stole his cargo of wood and SR13,000 in order to claim the goods and cash for himself. When police questioned the man, who was posing as a businessman, they discovered that his statements were contradictory and he was panicking. Police then discovered he had a prior criminal record. Officers followed the man after they released him and saw him going to a remote location and coming out with a bag. When police intercepted him and searched the bag, they found the money inside. The man was arrested, taken in for further questioning and later charged with filing a fake report.
