09 Dec 2020
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Zakat and Tax (GAZT) participated in the Forum on Tax Administration (FTA), which was organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The forum was held virtually on Dec. 7-8, 2020, and brought together the heads of the tax administration of 53 countries, whose tax revenues exceeded 11.5 trillion euros.
The two-day forum discussed a variety of tax administration issues including the countries’ responses to the global COVID-19 pandemic, risks, and digital transformation in tax administration.
The FTA was established in 2002, bringing together 53 OECD and non-OECD countries, including G20 members, to discuss and influence relevant global trends as well as develop new ideas to enhance tax administration around the world.
The GAZT participates in international economic forums related to tax administration emanating from its keenness to exchange successful expertise. — SG
