UAE records 390 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates recorded 390 new coronavirus cases on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 68,901, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement carried by state news agency WAM.
The ministry said that it conducted 79,680 additional coronavirus tests among different segments of the society over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment and reiterated its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and to carry out the necessary treatment.
The ministry also announced the death of one infected person from the complications caused by the infection, taking the number of deaths in the country to 379.
The ministry expressed its regret and sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished for a speedy recovery for all the infected people.
Meanwhile, an additional 389 individuals fully recovered from the deadly disease, raising the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 59,861.
